Who receives the boxes?
We send boxes to friends and family of Gloria Dei who have been identified as being deployed to places of conflict, as well as to military personnel picked at random from the list posted on the internet at
What do we send?
  • Things like toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, moist wipes, sunscreen, chap stick, disposable razors and hand lotion.
  • Foods that travel well and remind them of home -- like dried soups, top ramen, snack packs, cookies, coffee and tea, hot chocolate, beef jerky, gum and crystal light.
  • Fun items like balls and toys and small gifts to give the kids they meet along the way.
  • Seasonal treats for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.
  • Telephone calling cards so they can call home.
  • Pens and paper so they can write home.
  • A letter of thanks and encouragement from us.

Mailing Considerations.
Mailing costs are a big concern. It now costs $8.10 to send a box to a soldier. That's after all the supplies have been obtained and packed in the box! Postal expenses have already exceeded $3000!

Can I Help?
Sure! We need items to donate and money to help defray the mailing costs. You can bring either (or both) to the church office. And...       there's always room for more cooks at our cookie baking sessions. You can find out when and where the next one will be by sending us an email or by calling the church office (357-3386).

Can I add the name of another soldier?
You bet! Just send the soldier's name and APO/FPO address to Add a Soldier or by calling the church office (357-3386).
